Each spring brings a quick change to the "Rain Forest" in Wilmington, DE.
Beginning on April 17, the leaves begin to sprout. In a span of 10 days, the
forest comes to life. The camera is mounted in the family room looking out on
the Shellpot Creek, the back yard. Click a year button and cycle through the
change from April 17 to April 27 for each year. Or compare the same date from
one year to the next. (Sorry I forgot to set up the camera in 2003.) *NOTES:
In 2002 the camera was removed from the tripod every day to download the
pictures. In 2004 and 2005 the camera was stationary throughout the week.
Also, in 2005 the door
was opened when the picture was taken to remove the reflection from the glass
seen in earlier years. in 2006, spring began a few days early.
The
first tinges of green begain on April 15. Notice the sweet gum tree
in the middle ground: leaning slightly over the creek in 2002, leaning
a lot in 2004, and gone in 2005. The dogwood that held the flamingo
windsock fell down in the summer of
2005.
